GPDE5438A: Missing Voices: Equity in Education Conference  (1 cr.)
On November 13, 2012, the Culturally Responsive Teaching program and the Graduate School of Education will host the first Missing Voices: Equity in Education Conference at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota Event Center on the Twin Cities Campus. This event will bring together diverse educators, youth and community members in the Twin Cities who want to work collaboratively for the purpose of reducing the opportunity and academic achievement gap in Minnesota. Throughout the day, both educators and youth will have the opportunity to learn new strategies, engage in dialogue with multiple perspectives, and move to individual action as we work toward solutions to make our schools more equitable. To earn credit for this experience, participants will synthesize their learnings and create a plan to move to action and application.
You must also register for the actual conference at www.smumn.edu/missingvoices
