Master of Education in Teaching & Learning (36 credits)

The Master of Education in Teaching and Learning program is designed for licensed, practicing teachers who want to earn a master's degree as members of a monthly, weekend learning community. Designed to help teachers address high stakes standards and accountability, caring communities of teacher colleagues work collaboratively to develop strategies maximizing content learning. Teachers learn to promote student achievement as they develop their own areas of expertise as strategic learners and instructional leaders with content knowledge. Each community weekend is grounded in active adult learning, collaborative teacher self-study, and shared learning designed to improve instruction. Teachers learn by using their classroom as an applied learning lab. The classroom is used to ground self-directed teacher inquiry, focus teacher learning on improving personal practice, promote student learning, and deepen professional passion and purpose. Each weekend learning community is facilitated by a team of professional educational practitioners dedicated to the learning of their community members. The program is delivered at sites with concentrated teacher interest in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
